Speeding Lights

speeding%20ligts.jpg

Well the show on Granville Island has been pushed back a day, which is great, gave me time to stress out some more.  There is nothing I hate worse than finishing edges in black paint around a finished painting.  I am not a meticulous person by nature, and fighting against my natural sloppiness is an exercise in frustration.  Anyway, they're ready to hang, and should be up by tonight.  Opening night is Sunday, from 7 -9 Pm.
Here we have one of my new night in the city pieces, “Speeding Lights”, acrylic on canvas, 40 X 50 in.  Painted to “Paid The Cost To Be The Boss” by James Brown.  Inspired by a photo by Alvin Langdon Coburn, an amazing photographer whose work I admire greatly.

Your work has changed and you've made amazing progress since I last looked. It's fantastic. I'm sure hoping I'll make it to your opening on Sunday.
